The Blessings of God’s Boundaries

Rescuers recovered the body of a Nevada man Friday who fell about 400 feet to his death off the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

You might be thinking that this happened long ago. How could anyone fall to their death when so obvious a danger is right before our eyes? The truth however is that this tragedy occurred in May of this year. One would think that the Grand Canyon has plenty of safety rails to keep this type of thing from happening. It’s simply not the case. There are still trails around the rim of this vast canyon that do not have guardrails.

I think of the many safety restraints that we use on a daily basis. I wonder how we ever got along without them. It’s seems so common sense. But truth be told, it’s been through the loss of life and limb that we’ve discovered the necessity of such life saving devices.

As much as we would like to pride ourselves as progressive human beings, it was God Himself who set the order of boundaries and the blessings that were meant to follow.

In Job 38:8,10,11 we are reminded of something that God did at the very outset of creation. He created boundaries for the sea. Now matter how glorious all other aspects of creation, we could never appreciate or even recognize the infinite hand behind it, had God not put boundaries and limits on the vast waters that were on the earth. It was God who ordered the oceans and said, “Thus far you shall come, but no farther; and here shall your proud waves stop.”

Had God not known the blessings that those very boundaries would give to the rest of His creation, this planet would have forever remained in chaos and dysfunction.

Think of the breath taking landscapes here in America and abroad. Think of how planet earth itself and no other, is telling of how our magnificent Creator appointed and designed every nation and body of water. All because the boundaries that He ordained are in all the right places.

Friday June 26th 2015 was a sad day for our country. Both historical and tragic, our governing authorities legalized gay marriage.

Since the garden of Eden we have thrown off every God ordained boundary for our good, and choose instead what’s right in our own eyes. History, both biblically and historically proves that the more we remove, rewrite, or re-define God’s original order, we continue to fall headlong into destruction.  Let’s pray for our nation and as God’s people hold ourselves to   the blessings of God’s boundaries.

The Rock! His work is perfect and all His ways are just… Deut 32:4

This is awesome, Laurie! I was just telling someone the other day that God doesn’t have laws to keep us from having fun, but because He loves us and knows what’s best for us and wants to keep us from harm. Just like our parents who sets rules and boundaries, God is our creator. Why would He not go beyond what our parents would do and why would He not live us more than our parents?
