And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this. Esther 4:14
We live in a culture that is obsessed with self. Self improvement, self esteem, self awareness and self help. This list, I’m sure is much longer. While we look around and agree with this malady that plagues mankind, it is equally as true that the absorption of self is making greater and greater in roads among God’s people.
Christians, as never before are struggling to find their identity and their purpose.
Do you realize that no other nation on earth has more support for Christianity than the United States? We have more Christian radio, churches, conferences, literature, apps, and Bibles than any other country.
Yet, sadly enough, the church is in a crisis of true purpose.
I too can become so preoccupied with my little world that before long I’m in a fog of uncertainty. I love how the Holy Spirit get’s a grip on my perspective. He reminds me, as He does so often does, of Esther.
The book of Esther is a story of a young orphan who became a queen. But she soon realized that the court of royalty would become a divine destiny.
This woman faced challenges that not only had the potential to dethrone her, but the likelihood of death. And let’s not forget, she had an enemy, influential and cunning.
Then there was Mordecai. The man God used who’s unflinching sense of perspective and purpose challenged Esther to see the bigger picture.
Esther’s ah-ha moment came by discovering that being used by God was exactly where her path met its purpose. Through prayer, and her willingness to listen to godly counsel, God made it clear to Esther that her mission had greater consequences that went beyond her crown. Her conviction would become her courage that would save a nation.
Dr. Tony Evans said, “When you realize God’s purpose for your life isn’t just about you, He will use you in a mighty way.”
Let’s get practical.
1. Are you wife and mother? Have you been searching for purpose outside of your marriage and family? Do you know what God’s word has to say about your mission in your home?
2. Are you a single woman? Is your job and those you work with being influenced for God’s kingdom and the knowledge of Christ? Are there family members who’s souls desperately need the impact of your intercession? There are endless opportunies as a single gal just waiting for Jesus to be seen in and through you.
3. All women- are you serving in your church? You don’t need a podium as a pathway to be used by God. How about the children’s ministry where you can impact impressionable hearts for God’s kingdom. What about the women’s ministry? God can use you to come alongside other women to stand strong in their faith, when the enemy wants to take them down.
Ladies, let’s not spend our brief time here on earth seeking to make the most of ourselves. Let’s seek to make the most of our Savior. Like Esther let’s allow God’s purpose to become our path.

Thank you Laurie for sharing God’s truth in love and not watering it down. These verses came to mind in regards to what you wrote in your post – 2 Timothy 3:1-4 “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,”

Thank you Heather!
